Woman, 61, stabbed in Amsterdam shelter

A 61-year-old woman was injured in a stabbing at a shelter on Poeldijkstraat in Amsterdam early on Monday morning. She was taken to hospital with unknown injuries, Het Parool reports.

A man was arrested in connection with the stabbing shortly after 5:00 a.m. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The shelter on Poeldijkstraat is part of a HVO-Querido care program. The care organization offers shelter to homeless people, but also people who are waiting for another home, according to the newspaper.
