Motorist on the run after trying to crash into cops

The police are looking for a man who tried to crash his car into several police officers in Wijk bij Duurstede on Thursday morning. The police fired a shot at the fleeing motorist, the Utrecht police said on Twitter.

The incident happened near Zandweg. The officers were not injured, but a police car sustained some damage.

The police are looking for a black Mercedes AMG with a license plate number starting with RS-206. Witnesses who see this car are warned not to approach the car or its occupants themselves, but call the police.
