Two injured men arrested after shooting in Best

Shots were fired on Melde in Best around 7:15 p.m. on Monday. One man was found injured at the scene. Another wounded man was found a few blocks away. Whether he was shot is not clear. Both wounded men were arrested, Omroep Brabant reports.

The police closed down the area around Melde and asked residents to stay inside while the investigation was ongoing. A police helicopter could be seen above the area. There was blood on the door and the porch of the home on Melde where the shooting happened. The injured man found at the scene was taken to hospital for treatment. Afterwards he was taken to a police station for questioning.

A SWAT team raided a house on Professor Titus Brandsmastraat in the center of Best. The second wounded man was found there. He too was taken to hospital. The police are investigating whether this injured man is connected to the shooting on Melde, according to the broadcaster.

This is the second shooting in the area in less than a month. On May 7th a 39-year-old woman was shot in her arm.
