Sunny spring weather expected for Liberation Day

Fine weather is expected for Liberation Day on Saturday. It will by sunny and warm with maximums between 18 and 23 degrees, according to Weeronline. Remembrance Day on Friday will be dry and mostly sunny, with maximums around 13 degrees.

At 8:00 p.m. on Friday May 4th, the Netherlands will be dry and sunny, with a weak northeast wind and temperatures between 11 degrees on Terschelling and 16 degrees in Limburg. It will be around 14 degrees during the national commemoration of World War II victims on Amsterdam's Dam square, and around 12 degrees on the Waalsdorpervlakte. The sun will set around 9:10 p.m. on Friday.

A high pressure area with its core above Denmark will ensure sunny and dry weather in the Netherlands on Saturday. The morning will be chilly with temperatures around 5 degrees, but the sun will warm the air considerably to maximums ranging from 17 degrees on the Wadden to 23 degrees in Limburg, according to the weather service.

Of the Liberation Day parties, the one in Roermond will be the hottest with temperatures around 23 degrees. The parties in The Hague, Vlissingen and Leeuwarden will be the coolest with around 19 degrees. In the cities with he biggest parties, maximum temperatures will be around 20 degrees in Haarlem, 21 degrees in Groningen and Zwolle and 22 degrees in Wageningen.

Saturday's UV index will be 6 between noon and 3:00 p.m., which means that unprotected skin can burn within 15 minutes. Liberation Day celebrators are therefore advised to remember their sunscreen.
