Dordrecht gay bashing victim arrested for grooming

One of two men attacked during Grindr dates in Dordrecht three weeks ago, was arrested by the police on Wednesday. The 33-year-old man is suspected of grooming - knowingly trying to make a date with an underage child, the police said in a statement.

The two men made dates in Dordrecht on March 31st and April 1st using Grindr, a dating app for homosexuals. When they arrived at the agreed upon locations, they were attacked by a group of teenage boys and young men. One victim sustained minor injuries when the group beat him up, the other managed to get away from them unharmed. The police did not say which victim is now suspected of grooming.

The police arrested 13 teenagers between the ages of 14 and 21 suspected of attacking the two men. They have since been released from custody while the Public Prosecutor decides whether or not to prosecute them.
