New arrest in foiled Amsterdam-Paris train attack
The French and Spanish police arrested a 36-year-old man from Morocco in Paris on Wednesday morning. He is suspected of involvement in a failed attack on a high speed Thalys train from Amsterdam to Paris in August 2015, ANP reports.
The suspect lives in Spain and was on his way to Belgium, the Spanish Ministry of Home Affairs announced.
On August 21st, 2015 Moroccan man Ayoub al-Khazzani started shooting in a Thalys train. He was quickly overpowered by three American soldiers who happened to be on the train, along with other bystanders.
In October another man suspected of involvement in this foiled attack was arrested in Belgium. He was extradited to France three months later.
