Teen arrested in two Rotterdam street assassinations

An 18-year-old from Rotterdam was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the assassination of two men in the Rotterdam neighborhood of Beverwaard late last year. The young man was still 17 at the time of the shooting, the police said in Opsporing Verzocht on Tuesday.

The police are convinced that the teenager did not act alone and are still looking for other suspects.

Gilbert Henrietta (26) and Lindomar Elisabeth (25) were gunned down while sitting in a car on Rhijnauwensingel around 7:00 p.m. on December 20th. The gunmen fired on them from a black Audi, which was later found burning in Ridderkerk. The Audi turned out to be stolen. Weapons experts determined that a Kalashnikov was used in this shooting.

The police believe that Henrietta was the indented target, and Elisabeth was likely only killed because he was in the same car.
