Coldest February night in Netherlands in six years

Last night was the coldest February night the Netherlands had since 2012, when temperatures below -20 were measured, according to weather service Weerplaza. Many places in the country saw minimum temperatures drop below -10 degrees Celsius during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday.

Around 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday temperatures measured -10 degrees or lower in Eeldde, Heino in Overijssel, and Wijk aan Zee in Noord-Holland.

Weerplaza expects that temperatures will rise gradually over the coming days. Minimums will still drop below zero tonight. And there is a chance of snow on Friday.
