School bus slams into tree injuring five kids, driver

A school bus carrying around 10 children between the ages of 10 and 15 crashed into a tree during stormy weather in Gravenmoer, Noord-Brabant on Thursday. Five children and the bus driver were injured, AD reports.

The extent of the kids' injuries is unclear. The bus driver was seriously injured, according to the newspaper. The bus was transporting kids to a school in Andel.

The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

A massive storm hit the Netherlands on Thursday. Public works department Rijkswaterstaat warned people to stay off the roads due to dangerous driving conditions caused by the strong winds. Gusts of wind were so strong that Schiphol suspended all flights for a time, NS stopped trains and tram services in Amsterdam and Den Haag were halted.
