Hostage situation in Eindhoven hotel ends in arrest of two suspects

A reported kidnapping at the Hotel van der Valk in Eindhoven ended when a responding specialized police team arrested the suspects involved. There were no injuries, and police did not evacuate the hotel, authorities said.

"At about 19 hours, we received a notification that a man was being held hostage in a hotel room. Later in the room, the tactical arrest team took two foreign men into custody," Eindhoven police said on Twitter. Evidence was collected at the crime scene into Monday night, and both suspects were to be questioned either Monday or Tuesday to determine what happened in the hotel room, police said at about 10:30 p.m.

The police did not give any information about the identities of the people involved in the alleged kidnapping. According to a spokesperson no weapons were found in the hotel room.
