Snow starts to thaw in Netherlands; rain on the way
Snow and ice currently covering the Netherlands will thaw throughout the day, according to weather services Weeronline and Weerplaza. The morning and early afternoon will be mostly cloudy, with showers that may be accompanied by hail.
Maximum temperatures for Tuesday will range between 2 and 5 degrees. The showers will decrease during the afternoon, and there may be some periods of sunshine.
During evening rush hour, temperatures will drop to freezing. Weeronline warns motorists to be careful of icy and slippery roads.
Wednesday and the rest of the week are expected to be cloudy and rainy, with maximum temperatures ranging between 3 and 6 degrees.
This is the end of the winter weather for the time being, Weerplaza expects. Over the next week, winter discomforts will be limited to a single night of light frost and the associated chance of slippery roads.
