Hague woman chases off supermarket robber
An attempted supermarket robbery at Albert Heijn on Hildo Kroplaan in The Hague was foiled on Wednesday evening when 38-year-old Melissa Frieser chased the robber off, Omroep West reports.
The robber came into the store with a firearm and demanded that all the customers lie down on the ground. Friesser immediately saw that the gun was not real, and instead of lying down, she kicked the man in the knee. "I first wanted to give him a kick there where men don't like it", she said to the broadcaster. "But he stood a bit too turned away, so I thought, I'll give you a kick in the knee, then you won't run so fast."
Another customer started throwing the man with sweets and he fled. Frieser and the other customer chased after him and called the police. The police caught up with the 47-year-old would-be-robber near a nursing home in the area, according to the broadcaster.
