Suspect also accused of rape in Anne Faber's murder
Michael P. is officially suspected of raping 25-year-old Anne Faber from Utrecht, the Public Prosecutor announced on Wednesday. He is also suspected of murder or manslaughter. The 27-year-old man will be admitted to the Pieter Baan Center for psychiatric examination, NU.nl reports.
Anne Faber disappeared while cycling on September 29th. Her body was found in a wooded area in Zeewolde on October 12th. The police knew where to search for Faber's body based on information P. gave them.
Michael P. was arrested in connection with her disappearance on October 9th. He was arrested at an Altrhecht psychiatric institution in Den Dolder, where he was transferred for the final stage of a long prison sentence - preparing him for a gradual reintroduction to society. He was sentenced to prison for raping two teenage girls in Nijkerk.
