One hurt in late night shooting in Amsterdam

One person was injured in a shooting in Amsterdam Nieuw-West late on Monday night, the police confirmed on Twitter. The victim was rushed to the hospital. No arrests were made.

The shooting happened on Burgemeester De Vlugtlaan around midnight. Witnesses told local broadcaster AT5 that eight shots were fired. The police would not confirm this to the Telegraaf.

The extent of the victim's injuries is unclear. According to AT5, he was rushed to hospital in critical condition.

A spokesperson for the police told the Telegraaf that more information will be released during the course of Tuesday morning.
