Student assoc. denies reports of members destroying sushi restaurant

The management of Groningen student association Vindicat denies all reports that its members destroyed the Sushi Mall restaurant in Groningen when a party with a few hundred students got out of hand last week. According to the management, there is "no damage", NU.nl reports.

Witnesses told city blog Sikkom that Vindicat students pushed and mocked the staff, threw glasses, kicked a hole into the bathroom door and peed on the walls.

The Vindicat management was shocked by these accusations, a spokesperson said to the newspaper. "We immediately started an investigation. Conversations with several business executives [from the restaurant] did not reveal that the guests misbehaved seriously." There is no damage and Vindicat members are welcome to return to the restaurant, according to the management.

The management also acknowledged that the police responded to the restaurant due to noise complaints, according to the newspaper. The board will discuss this with the house leaders on Monday to hear their side of the story and take appropriate measures if necessary.
