Dutch flock to beaches on first summers day in August
The first summery weather of the month hit the Netherlands on Wednesday. The nice weather sent many Dutch flocking to the coast, for some swimming and sunbathing before autumn strikes, the Telegraaf reports.
Zuid-Holland, Zeeland, Noord-Brabant and Limburg can expect maximum temperatures around 29 degrees today. The northern provinces are somewhat cooler with temperatures ranging between 23 and 25 degrees.
This is the first summers day in the Netherlands in five weeks, and is also expected to be the only one in August. If that is the case, the summer of 2017 will go into the record book as the summer with the least summery weather in August since 1993, according to the newspaper.
