Schiphol cancels dozens of flights due to thick fog

Dozens of flights from Schiphol airport were canceled on Wednesday morning due to thick fog in the area. The airport expects that all affected passengers will be transferred to other flights during the course of the day, NU.nl reports.

KLM canceled 35 return flights to European destinations due to th fog. "The situation is improving quickly, but the delays will continue throughout the day", a spokesperson said, according to the newspaper. KLM advises passengers to keep an eye on its website for the current situation.

A number of flights were also delayed due to the fog. According to a Schiphol spokespersons, delays range from "up to half an hour and here and there an hour".
