One killed, two hurt in police car chase through Eindhoven
A motorist was killed and his two passengers injured when their car hit a tree during a police chase through Eindhoven in the early hours of Monday morning. The police started the chase when the car, with Belgian plates, ignored a stop sign during a "routine check", a police spokesperson said to Omroep Brabant.
The accident happened around 1:45 a.m. on Boutenslaan. According to the police, it was only a short chase, and the police car and the Belgian car did not hit each other. The driver of the Belgian car died at the scene. The other two people in the car were injured, though the extent of their injuries is unknown. The police officers were unharmed.
The police launched an extensive investigation into the accident, which will include a specialist traffic accident analysis from a different police corps.
