
Amsterdam man arrested for attempted assassination
The Amsterdam police arrested a 25-year-old from Amsterdam on Tuesday on suspicion of involvement in an attempted assassination in Slotervaart earlier this month. The suspect was arrested by a SWAT team on Comeniusstraat around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday. He is the third suspect to be arrested in this case, NU.nl reports.
The Amsterdam man was arrested in connection with an attempted assassination on Johanna Reynvaanstraat at around 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2nd. The police found a car riddled with bullet holes on the street after a shooting was reported. Hours later a man turned up at a police station in another city with minor injuries. The police believe he was the target of the shooting.
Two suspects were arrested shortly after the shooting in the area of the car. They have since been released from custody.
The man arrested on Tuesday is currently in restricted custody, which means that he is not allowed contact with anyone except his lawyer.
The investigation is still ongoing and the police are looking for witnesses.
