Schiphol train traffic halted by "threatening woman"
Train traffic around Schiphol was halted for a short time on Thursday night while the Koninklijke Marechaussee arrested a woman who "uttered threats to train staff", RTL Nieuws reports. Train traffic took hours to get back on track.
According to the Koninklijke Marechaussee, a policing force that works as part of the Dutch military and is responsible for airport and border security, the woman threatened the train staff. There are also reports that she had a knife. What exactly happened is unclear.
The woman was arrested around 10:30 p.m. The arrest caused some unrest among travelers at the airport. Marechaussee officers kept people out of the train station at the entrance to the platforms.
