Armored truck driver, five others held in money transport robbery

On Wednesday the police arrested six people suspected of involvement in a valuables transport robbery in Amsterdam in December. One of the suspects is the driver of the transport van, the police said in a statement on Friday, ANP reports.

Five suspects were arrested in Amsterdam, one in Utrecht. Some of the stolen goods were also recovered. 

The robbery happened on December 15th. On Amstelveenseweg in Amsterdam-Zuid an armed man managed to get into the transport bus with the driver and his passenger. On Riekerweg some of the valuables in the van were loaded into other cars. The van was then set on fire and the diver and his passenger wer left behind.

All suspects are in restricted custody, which means they are only allowed contact wit their lawyers. They will be arraigned on Friday.
