Over 60 kilos of heroin found in small plane at Teuge airport

A large quantity of heroin was discovered on a small aircraft at the Teuge Airport in Gelderland earlier this month, the police announced on Monday. The crew of the small aircraft was searched and two Germans, age 28 and 30 years, were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking.

The arrests were made on Friday, January 20th after a tip from the British authorities that a plane with heroin on it was on its way to the Netherlands. The Koninklijke Marechaussee, a policing force that works as part of the Dutch military, searched the plane the moment it arrived and found two suitcases filled with heroin - over 60 kilograms.

According to the Telegraaf, the drugs have a street value of over 2 million euros. The police are investigating.
