Irish police stop assassination of jailed Amsterdam gang leader
The Irish police managed to stop an assassination attempt on Amsterdam gang leader Naoufal F. last week. The Amsterdam criminal is in custody in Ireland on suspicion of possession of fake documents and soft drugs, AT5 reports.
According to local newspaper Sunday World, there were plans to assassinate F. in a prison in Dublin. The Irish police tipped the prison staff about the plans and they moved F. immediately. This happened on Thursday, according to the newspaper.
In December there was also a foiled attempt to break F. free while he was being transported.
F. was arrested in Dublin in April. In the Netherlands F. is a suspect in a failed assassination attempt on criminal Peter R. in Diemen late in 2015. He was also a suspect in the Staatsliedenbuurt assassinations in 2012, but never prosecuted due to lack of evidence. The Netherlands requested that F. be extradited.
