Police raid motorcycle gang No Surrender's clubhouse

Early on Friday morning a large team of police officers raided the clubhouse of outlaw motorcycle gang No Surrender in Emmen. An emergency decree was issued and fences were placed around the complex. According to the municipality, one person was arrested, AD reports.

"Based on a report from the police it has become plausible that the building is structurally used for committing cries, including under the Opium Act", the municipality stated as the reason for issuing the emergency decree. It also emerged that the clubhouse was built without a permit, which means that the building will be demolished. Henk Kuipers, the leader of No Surrender and also the person in charge of the club house, was informed about what would happen.

The area around the club house was closed down and an emergency decree issued out of fear of reprisals from the members of the motorcycle gang or their sympathizers.

The police also searched the home of a No Surrender board member. The 48-year-old resident was arrested. He is suspected of drug trafficking.

Leader Henk Kuipers posted a response to the raid on Facebook. "The police informed me this morning, because they wanted it to go quietly. Well, we let it happen quietly. The result is that without a clubhouse we are no longer in one place. Soon we will be everywhere. We will have to go somewhere." he wrote. "Maybe we'll go to a place outside the municipality of Emmen. Perhaps to Assen or Hoogeveen. Or Germany, that is close by. We could also travel around to different places. That's how the club was established. So Mayor, you did not get us out with this."

There will be a press conference with more details on exactly what happened at the clubhouse later today.
