Autumn leaves cause more train delays

Autumn weather and leaves on the tracks resulted in fewer trains traveling between Nijmegen and Schiphol and between The Hague and Utrecht on Thursday, NS reports.

There will be a train on these routes every 30 minutes, instead of the normal schedule of every 15 minutes. Travelers should take extra trael time of around 15 minutes into account. They also may have to switch trains more often. NS thinks the delays will last until 9:30 p.m. on Thursday.

According to NS, the autumn leaves and rain make tracks slicker than usual. This means that trains have less grip and may skid when braking.
