Dutch exports to Australia, New Zealand increasing
Dutch exports to Australia and New Zealand increased significantly over the past years, Statistics Netherlands announced at the start of the Dutch state visit to the two countire.s Since 2010 the number of Dutch companies exporting to the two countries roughly doubled.
Lastt year a total of more than 4.5 billion euros in goods and services were exported to Australia and New Zealand. Exports of products to Australia rose by 60 percent to 2.3 billion euros between 2010 and 2015. Product exports to New Zealand doubled to 370 million euros in the same period. Australia imports especially medicines and blood from the Netherlands, while New Zealand is particularly interested in aircraft parts.
About 2 billion euros in services are also exported to the two countries, mostly freight transport over sea. Australia is the Netherlands 32nd most important export destination, New Zealand is 71st.
Meanwhile about 20 tousand Dutch companies actively export to Australia, nearly double that in 2010. Around 7,400 Dutch companies export goods to New Zealad.
Tthe Netherlands also imports goods from Australia and New Zealand. Australia is the Netherlands' main supplier of seeds while New Zealand is number one when it cmes to muttoon. Last year 1.4 billion euros worth of goods were imported from the two countries.
