Six billion in Dutch gold moving from DNB to Zeist military grounds

The Dutch central bank DNB is moving gold- and banknotes vault from Amsterdam to the Defense grounds in Zeist. About six billion euros in gold bars will be moved, AT5 reports. The presence of the vault beneath the Amsterdam headquarters sets high security standards, making accessibility difficult for both customers and employees. Cash transports through Amsterdam city center is also a complicated matter. The plan is to have the gold in a new Cash Center on the military grounds Camp NewAMsterdam in Zeist from early 2022, according to the broadcaster. The Cash Center will also be responsible for sorting and distributing banknotes. There will also be an analysis center for finding counterfeits. The Koninklijke Marechaussee - a policing force that works as part of the Dutch military - is also located on the grounds. The Marechaussee already plays an important role in the security of DNB transports.
