Prosecutor may pay compensation for too hastily sold Bandidos motorcycle

The Public Prosecutor was too hasty in auctioning off a motorcycle seized from motorcycle gang Bandidos. A court ruled that the motorcycle must be returned, but the bike was already sold for 11.500 euros. Now the Prosecutor may have to pay compensation, NRC reports. The police seized 14 Harley Davidson bikes last year during the arrest of 14 Bandidos members in Limburg. The motorcycle gang members are suspected of forming part of a criminal organization. The lawsuit against them is still pending. While negotiating about the return of the motorcycles, lawyer Gitte Stevens representing the Bandidos members suddenly learnt that they already sold. And unjustly so, in at least one case. The motorcycle was auctioned of for 11,500 euros, but in reality is worth around 32 thousand euros.
