One hurt in Amsterdam stabbing; two arrested

A 46-year-old man was stabbed several times while walking on Amstelstraat in Amsterdam on Monday night, the police said in a statement. According to the police, the man and a number of family members were walking along the Amstel when a conversation with two passersby got out of hand. The passersby stabbed the man several time. The police arrested the suspected perpetrators, two 26-year-old men, and they are currently in custody for questioning. Both suspects have criminal records. The victim is in hospital. The severity of his injuries is unclear.
