Serbian police arrest Dutch terrorism suspect

A 26-year-old Dutch woman was arrested in the Serbian capital of Belgrade "because of a terrorist offense", according to Serbian newspaper Vecenje Novosti. Her Belgian-Turkish husband was also arrested. The Public Prosecutor confirmed to broadcaster NOS that a Dutch person was arrested in connection with suspected terrorism, but could say nothing about the identity of the suspect or the nature of the suspicions. The woman was possibly on her way to Syria, the Prosecutor said, adding that they are working on her extradition to the Netherlands. According to the Serbian newspaper, the suspect is 26-year-old Ramon S. from Maastricht. She was on international wanted list for involvement in a terrorist organization active in the Netherlands and Belgium. The newspaper reports that she is five months pregnant and has been hiding in Serbia for the last six months.
