Four arrests in Noord-Holland postal drug line bust

Earlier in August the Koninklijke Marechaussee - a policing force that works as part of the Dutch military - broke down a drug line run through postal packages. Four suspects were arrested, the Marechaussee announced on Thursday. The investigation was launched after customs officers at Schiphol discovered drugs in a number of postal packages destined for foreign countries. Investigation revealed that the packages all went through postal services in Noord-Holland. The packages contained different types of drugs, including cocaine and ecstasy. Given the diversity and size of the parcels, the Marechaussee believes that this is a well-organized drug trafficking ring. A large number of parcels were seized during the investigation, with destinations all over the world. Four men between the ages of 18 and 25 years from Beverwijk and Heemskerk were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking. A warehouse was searched in Hillegom and over 55 kilos of hard drugs were discovered and seized. According to the Marechaussee, the suspects used this warehouse to pack the drugs and get them ready to post. The Marechaussee also raided three homes and seized computers, phones and 150 kilograms of hard drugs. The suspects are still in custody.
