Motive a mystery in attempted assassination of Oss woman
The police are baffled about why a 28-year-old woman from Oss was nearly killed in what seems to be a targeted shooting in Berghem, Noord-Brabant early last month. Opsporing Verzocht broadcast information on the case on Tuesday in the hopes of finding witnesses. The mother of two young kids and her husband attended a birthday party in conference center De Merx on Burgemeester van Erpstraat in Berhem at around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 9th. They left the party around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 10th. The couple walked towards their BMW in the parking lot behind the conference center. The woman was the designated driver that night and got in behind the wheel. As she was closing the door, a gunman was suddenly right next to her. He shot her in the head at very close range before running away. The bullet was fired from less than a meter away. It went straight through the woman's head and was removed from her neck. It is a miracle she survived. The police can find no reason for the woman or her husband to be a target for an assassination. It is possible that the woman was mistaken for someone else. The police are investigating all scenarios and are looking to talk to anyone who could shed some light on this case. The shooter was dressed in dark colors and may have been wearing a hoody. While searching the neighborhood, the police found white workman gloves, a dark cap and a gray woolly hat in the bushes at the corner of Veldstraat and Schoolstraat.
The police are calling on anyone to come forward who witnessed the shooting, saw someone dump items in the bushes at the corner of Veldstraat and Schoolstraat, or have any other information relating to this case.
