One arrested for setting fire to Rotterdam flat, injuring two
A 24-year-old man was arrested in Rotterdam on Sunday for a fire in an apartment building on Favrestraat. Two people and a dog were injured in the fire, ANP reports.
Both victims were taken to the hospital. One sustained burns, the other had to be treated for smoke inhalation. The injured dog was treated by the animal ambulance.
The man is facing arson charges. The police believe the incident is related to relationship problems, a spokesperson said to ANP.
The fire broke out on the 9th floor of the building around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. About 20 flats were evacuated as precaution. Firefighters quickly go the fire under control and evacuated residents were allowed to return home around 7:30 p.m.
