Some 1,000 pigs killed in Noord-Brabant fire

A barn on a pig farm in Erp, Noord-Brabant, caught fire late on Tuesday night. The barn was completely destroyed. "A thousand pigs were probably killed by the fire", a spokesperson for the police said to NU.nl. Firefighters managed to keep the fire spreading to other buildings, though for it a time it seemed that a stable with about 5 thousand piglets would also catch fire. Firefighters got the fire under control around 3:45 a.m. Except for the pigs, there were no injuries in the fire. Firefighters expect to be busy with extinguishing the fire for several more hours. Initial measurements showed no asbestos. "But we can not directly reach the stables. There the fire is too intense. Later we will have to take measurements again", the police spokesperson said to NU. https://twitter.com/NLNieuwsAlert/status/758492113893982208 https://twitter.com/vdfotografie_eu/status/758471109381492738
