Eight-month pregnant woman dragged off bike, assaulted

A very pregnant woman was insulted and kicked off her bike by three men as she was cycling behind the town hall of the Overijssel town of Losser last week. The 37 weeks pregnant woman ended up on the ground before her attackers ran off, the Gelderlander reports. "I got the handlebars of my bike in my belly, right in the spot where my baby's back is", the woman said to the newspaper. A trip to the hospital revealed that the baby is still doing fine. The woman herself has a bruise on her abdomen and scrapes to show for the incident. "It could have turned out much worse." she added. "I'm 37 weeks pregnant, so those guys had to notice. How can you do such a thing? Incomprehensible." The woman can't recall what the men shouted at her. "I only thought about my baby, and went straight to the midwife. I only know that there were three men, one was wearing a black cap and one was smoking. I estimate them 25, 30 years old." The police are investigating and call on witnesses to come forward. They describe the perpetrators as "tanned men of foreign origin", who ran away when the woman was on the floor.
