Nijmegen commemorates Nice victims

Participants and organizers of the four day marches Vierdaagse in Nijmegen commemorated the victims of a terrorist attack in Nice, France during the official opening of the marches on Sunday. The Taptoe was played during the opening ceremony on Wedren and a minute of silence was held, ANP reports. The opening parade started at the Waalbrug and went through the city center. Some 1,800 marchers, soldiers and police officers participated, accompanied by bands and military bands from different countries. The participants carried flags of all participating countries and the 12 provinces. This parade is one of the any extra activities to celebrate the 100th Vierdaagse. The Vierdaagse-parties started on Saturday. The marches start tomorrow.
