Shots fired in Rotterdam arrest

The police fired a warning shot while arresting a group of six boy aged between 13 and 18 years in Rotterdam on Sunday. The boys were walking around with a fake weapon, ANP reports. The police were called in around 7:00 p.m. when someone noticed a boy walking around with a gun in his waistband on Berkenstein. Officers approached the group of boys with guns drawn, as is standard procedure when approaching an armed suspect. But the boys found this great fun and ignored the officers' instructions. An 18-year-old boy grabbed for a bag they had with them and one of the officers fired a warning shot. The boys seemed to realize the seriousness of the situation and gave in. In the bag the police found a fake firearm that is not distinguishable from a real one.
