Dutch Foreign Min.: Stand together in dealing with Brexit

Minister Bert Koenders of Foreign Affairs called on European Union countries to stand together in handling Britain's decision to leave the EU and in dealing with concerns in and about Europe, the Telegraaf reports. "This day will be remembered in history books. Together with Europe we will now turn a new page. We have to work on the concerns reigning in and about Europe. That is the line of he Dutch presidency and thereby results are achieved", Koenders said. "Only by joining forces can we create jobs and security for ourselves and our children. We have to keep working towards an EU thet reforms further, an EU that works for citizens, not vice versa." Koenders is in Luxembourg on Friday, where representatives of the 28 EU member states are meeting to discuss the results of the Brexit referendum. Like Prime Minister Mark Rutte, Koenders expressed his disappointment in the referendum results. But he added that the British population "gave a signal that must be respected".
