Fiancee arrested after woman reported missing in Dutch village

The police arrested a 34-year-old man in Ophemert on Sunday in connection with the disappearance of 37-year-old Emilia Maskiewicz. The suspect is Maskiewicz' fiance, the police said in a statement. Maskiewicz was last seen on Bommelsestraat in Ophemert at around 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, May 26th. Emilia is Polish, about 1.6 meters tall with blonde hair, green eyes and a scar under her nose. She was wearing a black vest, black shirt with horizontal white stripes, black jeans and white Adidas shoes with white stripes at the time of her disappearance. She was carrying a black bag with white stripes on it. The police searched the area and performed trace evidence investigations where she went missing, where she lives in Ophemert and where her fiancee lives. Based on trace evidence found and statements from witnesses, the police currently believe that the fiancee is involved with her disappearance. He was arrested on Sunday and is still in custody, the police said on Tuesday. The police would like to talk to anyone who saw Maskiewicz after 6:20 p.m. on Thursday night.
