Newspaper deliverer in critical condition after Rotterdam stabbing

A newspaper deliver was critically injured in a stabbing in Rotterdam-West on Friday morning. The woman was found lying next to her bicycle, covered in blood. A local resident called the police just after 5:00 a.m. when she heard the victim calling for help. Emergency services rushed the woman to the hospital in critical condition. The woman was delivering AD newspapers, according to the newspaper. She is 51 years old and lives in Rotterdam. The circumstances of the stabbing is still unclear. The police are urgently looking for witnesses. The stabbing happened on Pasteursingel in Oud-Mathenesse, on the border between Rotterdam and Schiedam. "It is a terrible event", Frits Campagne, CEO of AD's publisher De Persgroep Nederland, said to the newspaper. "We sympathize, and hope that the lady recovers fully. That's the most important thing. What makes this even more tragic, is that she was filling in for her sons, who are the actual deliverers."
