Diverse group of hundreds rally in Amsterdam against terrorism

A peace rally put together by several Muslim organizations drew hundreds of people from various faiths to Amsterdam’s Dam Square on Friday evening. The demonstration was a show of unity following the attacks in Brussels earlier in the week. Athiests, Christians, Humanists and Jews joined Muslim people in front of the Royal Palace. “This is a sign of solidarity,” Saïd Bouharrou told NOS. "Terrorists are trying to rip our society apart. It is important to come together,” the co-organizer and mosque leader said. "It's good that Christians, Muslims, Jews and agnostics are all gathered here," an attendee told NOS. "We will not let a few crazies who set off a bomb turn us against one another." The rally started off slow due to dismal weather, but many turned out once the clouds cleared up.
