Police hold Feyenoord’s Eljero Elia in brawl investigation

Feyenoord player Eljero Elia was detained by the police on Monday on suspicion that he was involved in a brawl in Rotterdam, his lawyer Jan Kabalt confirmed to NU. "Elia received a call to be questioned from the police on Sunday and reported himself to the police on Monday", Kabalt said. He added that this is "a simple assault". The brawl happened on Thursday night, following the KNVB Cup semi-final between Feyenoord and AZ.
