Two gunmen sought in Amsterdam criminal's murder

The police believe that two gunmen were involved in the assassination of Amsterdam criminal Chahid Yakhlaf in Kerkdriel on New Year's Eve. Two other people were injured. According to the police, two gunmen opened fire on Yakhlaf while he was sitting in a car with his brother and another passenger at the entrance of the Maaszicht camping grounds on Maasbandijk in Kerkdriel. The shooting happened around 6:15 p.m. on December 31st. The wounded victims managed to drive away and came to a stop several kilometers further, on Rooijensestraat in Hoenzadriel. They were taken to a hospital from their. Chahid died shortly after his arrival at the hospital. A short time later a burning BMW was found in the parking lot of a company on Hogeweg in Zaltbommel. The police believe that this was the assassins' getaway car. The car was stolen from Utrecht in October and was equipped with fake number plates reading 18-TF-PZ. The police are calling on witnesses to come forward. They would like to talk to anyone who witnessed the shooting, noticed anything that may be related in the area of Kerkdriel or Hoenzadriel on New Year's Eve, saw the perpetrators setting the car on fire in Zaltbommel or saw the perpetrators fleeing the scene of the car fire.
