More freezing rain, slick roads has Northern Netherlands on high alert
The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute issued a code orange warning for black ice and slick roads in Groningen, Friesland, Drenthe and the Waddenzee area. The code orange warning will be in effect from 7:00 p.m. on Monday to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
A code orange warning warns of very dangerous conditions. Motorists are advised to adapt their traveling behavior and take extra traveling time on both the road and public transport into account. Keep a close eye on the weather forecasts and warnings and traffic information.
A code yellow warning for black ice and slick roads is currently in effect in the area, and will also apply to Tuesday after 12:00 p.m. for the rest of the day. There is also a code yellow warning in effect for Overijssel and the Ijsselmeer area, which will apply until Wednesday morning.
