Report: Grolsch to be sold off within months

Beer combination AB InBev-SAB Miller may be selling off Grolsch and Italian beer brand Peroni within the next three months. Sources told news wire ANP that potential buyers will be contacted on Friday and told that a deal needs to be made in the first quarter of next year. The two brands are expected to bring in around 1.8 billion euros. Potential buyers for the two beer brands include KKR and Bain Capital, according to the sources. A joint bid from Heineken and Carlsberg was also mentioned as an option. Grolsch and Peroni were officially put on the market earlier this month. This was done to ease competition authorities' concern about AB InBev and SAB Miller merging into the largest beer producer in the world. Heineken comes in as a very distant second place.
