Video: Four arrested in Amsterdam street assassinations investigation

The Amsterdam police raided a cafe on the corner of Hoofweg and Jan van Galenstraat in West on Wednesday night in connection with the investigation into the gang-related assassinations in the city. Four of the 24 people present were arrested. A police spokesperson told AT5 that gambling was happening inside the cafe. The police closed off part of the street immediately after the SWAT team entered the building around 9:45 p.m. Three people were arrested on suspicion of illegal gambling and the fourth because he could not identify himself. All suspects were taken to the police station for questioning. The owner of the cafe was not present during the raid. The police also seized money, a computer and paperwork. The raid was a collaboration between the police, the tax authorities and customs. Mayor Eberhard van der Laan will decide whether or not the cafe will stay open.
