Amsterdam police break up drug trafficking ring
The Amsterdam police arrested four people and seized a number of vehicles during a police raid in two hangars in the industrial estate De Heining in the Westelijk Havengebied on Tuesday.
The police performed the raid in order to get more information about a criminal organization suspected of involvement in large-scale drug trafficking, the Telegraaf reports. The two hangars involved house auto companies De Turbo Specialist and De Roetfilter Specialist.
At this stage the police will only say that the raid was part of an ongoing investigation into criminal activity. Sources told the newspaper it involves drug trafficking - narcotics being smuggled in second hand cars.
This is not the first time that these two hangars form part of a police investigation. In May last year a hand-grenade was thrown into one of the hangars, causing considerable damage to the property and some cars.
