Fire, smoke hurt two in Rotterdam apartment building
Several apartments had to be evacuated after a fire broke out on the upper floor of an apartment building on Schiebroekselaan in Rotterdam on Tuesday morning. Two people were taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
The fire started around 2:30 a.m. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
One of the evacuated residents told RTV Rijnmond that the flames leaped half a meter from the roof. It took the fire department about two hours to extinguish the fire.
