Subway pusher caught, held for attempted manslaughter

A 28 year old from Rotterdam was arrested on Wednesday for trying to push someone in front of an oncoming train. The suspect is in custody on suspicion of attempted manslaughter. The incident happened around 8:45 p.m. on March 11th at Blaak station. The suspect ran away after trying to push someone in front of a approaching train. The police shared video footage of the incident on the TV Rijnmond's detection program Bureau Rijnmond. They were able to arrest the suspect on Wednesday, partly thanks to the tips received from viewers. In April another Rotterdam resident was also arrested for pushing someone onto the tracks in a subway station. This incident happened in Gerdesiaweg station. Bystanders were able to help the 67 year old woman off the tracks and back onto the platform before the train arrived.
