Severe storm warning for south Netherlands

Meteorologists increased the severity of a weather warning issued for Friday afternoon, saying more severe thunderstorms are expected to hit the south of the country. A code orange warning was issued for Zeeland, Zuid-Holland and Noord Brabant by the national weather service KNMI. The thunderstorm warning is in effect from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the three provinces. Steady winds are expected of between 75 and 100 km/h, with gusts reaching 120 km/h. Hail is also possible. Meanwhile, the rest of the country is also under a code yellow storm watch for less intense thunderstorms, from about 7 p.m. through the early morning hours of Saturday. Winds up to 100 km/h are also expected in the north and east of the Netherlands, with a chance of hail countrywide.
